We take your privacy seriously. New Zealand has comprehensive privacy legislation which requires us (and all other companies) to provide a privacy statement setting out what information we collect, and what we do with it. Our privacy practices comply with that legislation.

General Privacy Statement

When you contact us and/or purchase products from our website:

We collect personal information from you about your:

• Name
• Contact information
• Information relating to your enquiry and/or purchase.

We collect this information for the purpose of selling our products to you. We store this information on Shopify (customer order system) and Google (emails). We also retain your purchase history as well as any purchase or shipping preferences you may provide. We keep this information indefinitely as customers prefer that we have a record of their transaction history.

When you opt in to receive our regular email newsletters by email, we collect your email address. We store this on the Shopify platform.

We share your name and address with our shipping partners so that we can deliver your products. We do not share any other personal information with any other party.

You have the right to ask for a copy of any personal information we hold about you, and to ask for it to be corrected if it is wrong. If you’d like to ask for a copy of your information, or to have it corrected, please contact us at office@imperialproductions.co.nz.

Our systems

Our technology systems may collect information such as your IP address, location and how long you stay on our site, and what pages on our site. This information is collected in order for us to better understand our customers’ browsing activity so that we improve our website experience for you, and to better understand our customer markets. This information is not linked directly to individual customers, but is anonymised. Our main platforms for collecting this information are Google Analytics and Shopify. From time to time we may share aggregated data (not personal information) with our partners for the purpose of improving our technology systems.

We do not collect cookies but Shopify may do so when you visit our site.

Your personal information, and information about your orders is held in our systems which are provided by Shopify (www.shopify.com) and Google (www.google.com).  Refer to Shopify’s legal and compliance statements for details on how Shopify collects, retains and uses information in their systems here. Information stored with Google includes emails and aggregated traffic data.

Our payments are managed through Shopify Payments, and PayPal. Refer to our Payments statement for details here. These providers provide statements as to how they comply with PCI and other requirements to protect your payment information. We do not retain credit card information, nor do we retain records of gift card activation codes, which are sent to customers by our system when gift cards are purchased.
