Change of ownership for Imperial

Dear collector friends,

As we start the new year I am pleased to announce a change of ownership for Imperial Productions. I have sold the business to a local Wellington couple that I have known for many years, Mark Yeoman and Bridget Ross. Mark is a long-time collector so is very familiar with those qualities that set Imperial aside from other figures. They will continue to manufacture locally (not offshore) and continue Imperial’s tradition of fine hand crafted figures. Everything will continue to be made in New Zealand.

As part of the new arrangement, I will step back from the production side of the business and focus my time on creating new figures and ranges exclusively for Imperial. Lisa Cowe will continue with Imperial as principal artist. As I will still be involved with the business, I will also be advising Mark and Bridget on the creation of molds, quality control and other production matters to ensure a smooth transition.

This change will mean that in the coming year Imperial intends to return to a more regular cycle of releasing new products for our customers, and gradually expanding its capacity, without compromising the quality and craftsmanship of our finely detailed collectibles.

I am very pleased that the business that Kay and I started in 1982 has a new lease of life, and that your patience will soon be rewarded with some new product to enjoy.

Our shop in Greytown will close, but a selection of our product will be displayed in the window for the foreseeable future. All sales will be processed through the website which is being relaunched this week. Our contact details remain the same and Mark and Bridget are looking forward to getting to know our collectors and taking your inquiries and calls.
