Sudan Wars

The Anglo-Sudan war was part of a broader Madhist war from 1881-1899 between the Madhist Sudanese under Muhammad Ahmad bin Abd Allah (the "Mahdi"), and the Khedivate of Egypt. Britain became entangled through its expanding ambition in Egypt after taking over administration of the heavily indebted Egyptian Treasury

Imperial's Sudan range includes several iconic sets; palm trees, camels, a gatling gun crew, bengal lancers and some very attractive Madhist forces.

The range was significantly scaled down in the 1990s, with only a few sets remaining in production.
