The Anglo-Zulu war was fought in 1879 between the British Empire and the Zulu kingdom, several bloody conflicts mark the war; the British defeat at Isandlawana and the defence of Rorke's Drift among them.
The Zulu War series was the first themed series developed by Imperial and it proved to be a very popular series.
The series was retired in the 1990's although a late addition to the range was made with set 145, retired in the 2010's.
