150 7th Hussars French Army, 1st Empire
The regiment fought in almost every major battle of the Napoleonic Wars, including Waterloo. They wear the bearskin colpack with red bag, green tunic and pelisse with yellow looping and lace. They have the hussar fashion of hair queue, and side plaits.
The 7th Regiment of Hussars was formed during the French Revolution by the combining of two smaller units, the Kellerman Legion and the ‘Hussards de Lamothe’. The 7th Hussars served under some of the finest colonels that included Jean Rapp, Eduoard Colbert and Marcellin Marbot in Napoleon’s army. They fought in almost every major battle of the Napoleonic wars.
Present at Waterloo the regiments were posted on the extreme right flank of the French army under Colonel Marbot spent the afternoon fighting a desperate delaying action against the advancing Prussians.
