50a 6th Bengal Cavalry (pre-owned)

The Battle of Tel-el-Kebir, 1882, the 2nd 6th and 13th Bengal Lancers were positioned with the British cavalry on the right of the line of advance on the Egyptian entrenchments.

Once the British infantry attack had severely weakened Egyptian resistance, the cavalry, under artillery fire galloped through the defenses to pursue the fleeing enemy, with orders for the 6th to advance a further 12 miles to take the town of Zapazig. A correspondent covering the seizure of Zapazig describes it as “the most brilliant and spirited incident”.
