50c 4th Bengal Cavalry (pre-owned)

Raised in 1838 as an Auxiliary Force they later became the 6th Irregular Cavalry and during the Scinde campaign 1842-43 were organised into a camel corps with troopers operating in pairs with one riding and the other acting as an infantry man.

For their part in this campaign the regiment earned the ‘Scinde’ standard or guidon. The regiment were involved at Moultan 1858, during the Mutiny, and later earned the battle honour ‘Afghanistan 1879-80’.

Excellent condition, paint bright, horse legs firm. Scabbards undamaged and swinging arms firm.

Box condition

Original box in mint condition. Some sets still tied into their backing cards
