A8 Confederate Infantry (pre-owned)

Sale price$240.00 NZD

Americana Series

In 1861, the basis of the Confederate States Army, was local volunteer and militia units, most often clad in the popular ‘cadet grey’. Wisely, the Confederate Dress Regulations of that year authorised double-breasted frock coats of ‘cadet grey’ with facings of branch colour of the collar and cuffs and sky-blue trousers.

Officer’s uniforms, privately purchased and tailor made tended to follow this authorised pattern, but it is thought that few enlisted men wore this frock coat. The sack coat depicted here was worn by some units, but as the Confederacy faced greater difficulties with supply, a short shell jacket became the ‘Johnny Reb’s’ standard garment.

This set shows two troopers reloading and four standing firing.
